Did you recently get your tooth extracted? Are you scared of having a dry socket(a very painful condition)? then there is no need to be a worry. By following complete and proper instructions the healing process will be done soon. After the extraction, the important thing we need to do is bite on a gauze piece for 30 to 60 minutes which is placed on the extraction side, after 30-60 minutes discard it slowly. when you discard it if it is still bleeding from the extraction side like the bright red color place another fresh gause piece for 30-40 minutes. gently remove the gauze piece because clot formation is in process.

The patient must follow the proper tips so that they will not be suffering from pain, swelling, bleeding, and dry socket issues. The important thing you have to remember is that do not spit out after extraction. Do not rinse your mouth for two to three days. Try to not eat spicily and masala mixed food because it increases the chances of dry socket. After removal of gause piece or cotton placed at the extraction side, try to have ice cream. This will help you to stop bleeding. The cold ice will give the patient a satisfaction feeling so apply ice packs on your cheek. The patient must visit a doctor again to check whether the healing is in a need and clean way or not. Do not smoke and do not drink alcohol for at least first three days after the extraction. If the patient has sutures, he can go for outings and eat various food. Do not take hot foods or drinks because these increase the chances of bleeding and disrupt cloud formation. Do not eat food with seeds, some particles of seed get stuck into the seeds and at the extraction side. Eat ice-creams and soft, cold, and fresh foods instead for the first 10 hours of the surgery. Try to avoid other activities and take rest fat or least 24 hours after surgery. Sleep with two pillows to sleep freely. Take painkillers when you need them.do not brush on the wound area. After three days of extraction, start to rinse your mouth with peroxide and water gently, twice a day after you brush your mouth. Also use mouth wash to rinse your mouth, twice a day. Or you can rinse with salt water. Brush your teeth regularly after the day 3rd. Eat normally after 3 days of extraction but carefully.

If you will follow the above tips and instructions after the extraction of your tooth, your wound will heal correctly. Within 2-3 months, your extraction site will be ready for further procedures like implant when the tissue will regenerate.
